Website Operating Policies

  1. The Web Committee is charged with developing and maintaining the content of a website for the Village of Sugar Bush Knolls.
  2. The Web Committee is made of at least three members, at least one of whom should be on the Council.   (for 2020, Jeffrey Coffee, Elizabeth Hartley, and Amey Park)
  3. Editing privileges
    1. The Committee Chair assumes primary responsibility for updating the website.  (e.g., Amey Park)
    2. All members of the Web Committee have full editing privileges, including the authorization to take down the website.
    3. All members of the Web Committee should be trained minimally in how to take down the website.
    4. The technical advisors have editing privileges to be used in a technical advising capacity only (in other words, they cannot make changes to the content or create pages unless under the direction of a committee member).
    5. All committee members agree to create a secure (not-easily hacked) password.
    6. Approving website changes
      1. Minor changes (fixing broken links and typos, updating government information (e.g., contact information for legislators after an election) and adding helpful NE Ohio links) can be made by any member of the Committee without approval.
      2. New website pages and the content therein must be approved by the voting Committee members.  [doesn’t require full Council approval]
      3. Major changes to the website (e.g., re-organization) must be approved by the Council.
      4. Expressing approval for issues of interest to the Village must be approved by the Council and include a vote count if it wasn’t unanimous.
      5. Discontinuing the service must be approved by the Council.
      6.  Standards and policies statement
        1. The Website standards and policies statement (below) was approved by the Village Council on Nov. 11, 2013.
        2. The Website standards and policies statement (below) will be included as a website page, as the last element on the “About” page.
